The Boston Globe: June 27, 2010 by Martin Gee

I love the quirky drawings on this layout! This is a great, innovative way to illustrate an article about reality shows.

Feeling in the dumps? Just read the teases on this cover. They made me giggle! As a reader, they definitely make me want to peruse the articles inside!

The Villages Daily Sun: June 18, 2010 by Anthony

I like how the characters appear to be walking out of the picture, which is perfect since Toy Story 3 was created in 3-D!

The Guardian: April 19, 2010 by Emily Ku

The use of white space on this page and dark colors exude a sense of professionalism that one would expect a pulitzer prize winner to have. I also like the timeline at the top of the page exhibiting past winners and that the designer included two of Rae Armantrout’s poems.

I am a great fan of mixing photos with simple illustrations. I love how the body copy is placed neatly over the trunk of the tree. And the miniature vector images of the characters running away add a whimsical touch to the page that also moves the reader towards the next page!

I hope these layouts inspired you as much as they did me! If nothing else, I hope they brought a smile to your face or furthered your appreciation of great design!
